Tiling GuidesThese Tiling Guides were produced by the Technical Committee of the Clay Roofing Tile Council (CRTC). The CRTC consists of the 5 principal UK Clay Roof Tile Manufacturers, Eternit Building Materials Ltd, Dreadnought Tiles, Keymer Tiles Ltd, Lafarge Roofing Ltd and Sandtoft Roof Tiles Ltd, who manufacture 90% of the UK's clay roof tiles. Edward Cowan, former Chief Executive of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors said of the Vertical Tiling Guide: "It is well laid out with illustrations and clear drawings. It deserves to become the principal guide in the industry for roofers and builders engaged in the disciplines".
The Plain Tile GuideThe Plain Tile guide describes some common roof constructions and tiling details that are likely to occur in new and refurbished roofs. Material specifications are provided and where appropriate, these refer to new, or, proposed European standards. The text follows the guidance given in the code of practice for stating and tiling, BS 5534, and includes some of the changes that are being proposed for the next revision of that document. Particular attention has been paid to best practice with respect to the ventilation of the roof space or batten cavity to prevent the buildup of harmful levels of condensation in the roof structure. The Vertical Tiling guideThe Vertical Tiling guide covers tiling on pitches above 75 Degrees from the design stage of a project to the repair and maintenance of existing clay tiles. You will find information on recommended wall structures, setting out, fixing, specifications together with illustrations in this highly informative and popular guide.
Contact us if you'd like to receive the CD ROM produced by the CRTC which covers all the information in the two guides but also many more illustrations and examples of finished roofs. Click here to visit the Clay Roofing Tile Council Website |
