Haseley 1

Background

Haseley Manor was built in 1875 by William Young. and for over a 100 years, it has stood tall and majestic in its leafy grounds in Warwickshire — its imposing Gothic turret a much-loved local landmark.

Challenge

It has recently been  restored and converted by Spitfire Homes  into 13  appartments with 9 new residences being built within its grounds.  Blending the new with the old and respecting the setting of the manor house was the key objective of Spitfire’s design brief,’ says architect Mike Lapworth. ‘The intention from the outset was to create a timeless design which looked established — a truly special place that could have always been there.’

Dreadnought’s dark heather plain clay tiles were selected to match existing tiles on the historic Grade II listed Manor House to give an established look to these elegant new build residences.  The new development blends well with the old baronial style of the original Manor House and has been awarded Best Small Development at the Evening Standard New Homes Awards 2019.
