Staffordshire Blue
SmoothfacedSome manufacturers produce a dark tile by applying a spray on stain to the surface. However, the Dreadnought range are genuine traditional blue colours obtained by the careful control of the kiln atmosphere. The Staffordshire Blue is a competitive alternative to natural slate.
SandfacedThe Dreadnought Staffordshire blue is the product of a skilled process, where the iron content of the clay is converted to Blue. This process was established by generations of brick and tile makers and the colour is unique to the Dreadnought factory.
